Born and raised in south-west England by an Italian Popsy and Belfast babe Mama; I'm now based in Berlin after falling in love with the city's wide streets, Autumnal colour palette and exciting food scene.
A few years ago, my sister and I came up with the original concept for Luna & Fennel - to develop a recipe for the perfect gluten-free pizza base. After a couple of years of trial and development - supper clubs, street food, catering - I wanted to share a little more.
Some of my earliest and happiest memories are going to Nonna’s house for dinner. “Mangia! Mangia!” and “you’re too skinny! Eat!” - these phrases were a given as we learnt that an empty plate was never empty for long…
Growing up around this and watching my own Mother cook, our dining room being “the best restaurant in town” according to my Pops (it was true!) left me with a huge appreciation for meal times, food and the happiness it brings people.
The Luna & Fennel pizza base is gluten-free, low-carb and vegan, made with blended cauliflower and a subtle hint of fennel - an ode to Nonna’s very own recipe.
The recipes you’ll find here are seasonally focused, mostly plant-based and inspired by my family’s heritage and love of Italy, gluten-free where possible and always delicious! I really hope you enjoy them!
